Appliances decide whether a kitchen feels designed or merely equipped: the trick is specifying machines that vanish into the joinery and only reveal themselves at work.
Integrate the big, celebrate the small
Fridges, dishwashers and extraction should disappear behind cabinetry fronts. Save the stage for one or two beautiful objects — a brass tap, a stone cooker surround — that earn their visibility daily.
Silence is a specification
In open-plan rooms, check decibels before dimensions. A 39dB dishwasher and an externally-ducted hob mean conversation survives cooking. We list noise ratings on every schedule we issue.
“A calm kitchen is 20 percent cabinetry and 80 percent machines you never notice.”
Plan services before surfaces
Water, waste, power and venting routes must be fixed before the first tile is ordered. Moving a soil pipe after stone is cut is the most expensive sentence in remodeling — so we draw services first, beauty second.
- Vent outside, alwaysRecirculating hoods recycle smells; ducted ones remove them.
- Raise the machinesDishwashers and ovens at waist height save backs daily.
