The Ellipse Lounge

Spokane, USA · 2025 · Residential Interior Design — sculptural comfort in a glass-walled room.

Overview

Curves Against the Glass

A stunning single-storey home with floor-to-ceiling glass deserved furniture with opinions. We answered its straight lines with curves: a sweeping boucle sofa, a round travertine table and a rug that pools like water. Gallery-grade spots turn the owner’s print collection into the room’s second view.

Everything sits low and soft, so the pines outside stay the tallest thing in sight.

Challenge & approach

Softening the Box

  1. The challenge

Hard glass, hard floors and echo — beautiful by day, stark by night.

  2. The approach

Deep-pile rugs, linen sheers, acoustic plaster and furniture with not a sharp corner in sight.

  3. The outcome

A room guests photograph before they sit down — then never want to leave.
