Golden Oak Dining Hall

Liberty Lake, USA · 2025 · Renovation and Remodeling — a kitchen-diner built for twelve-top Sundays.

Overview

Sunday Lunch, Every Week

Three generations share Sunday lunch here, so the brief was simple: seat twelve comfortably, serve without a squeeze and clear up in minutes. We opened the kitchen to the garden room, ran white oak from floor to ceiling and hid the hardworking bits — ovens, bins, bottles — behind flush brass-trimmed fronts.

A twelve-seat table anchors the room; a window bench swallows the overflow at holidays.

Oak kitchen with island and dining table

Challenge & approach

Twelve Seats, Zero Squeeze

  1. The challenge

A galley kitchen and a separate dining room, neither big enough for the family’s famous roasts.

  2. The approach

Wall out, services rerouted in one week; a working triangle tucked behind the show kitchen.

  3. The outcome

Twelve for lunch, two for breakfast — and a room that cleans itself up by nine.
