Juniper Suite Retreat

Coeur d'Alene, USA · 2025 · Residential Interior Design — a primary suite tuned for sleep and slow mornings.

Overview

Sleep, Designed

Our clients — two hospital-shift workers — needed a bedroom that could be dark at noon and golden at seven. We layered blackout, acoustic panels disguised as art and a dawn-mimicking lighting scene, then rebuilt the wardrobes around their actual clothes, not a catalogue’s.

Linen, white oak and limewash keep the room soft; every switch sits exactly where a sleepy hand lands.

Challenge & approach

Dark at Noon, Golden at Seven

  1. The challenge

Daytime sleep in a street-facing room with thin walls and blazing afternoon sun.

  2. The approach

Triple-layer window dressings, hidden acoustic treatment and three lighting scenes on one bedside keypad.

  3. The outcome

A suite the owners call “the hotel we never check out of” — quiet, dark and effortlessly calm.
